VSSJ has monthly potlucks with a topical presentation, such as a movie, guest speaker, or cooking demonstration!  See below for details.

  • For all VSSJ potlucks:  Each individual in your party (with the exception of children under 12) brings a vegetarian* dish to share that will feed at least 6 people (vegan** dishes preferred so that all types of vegetarians may enjoy the food), along with the recipe or a list of ingredients.  Please bring your own plate, cup, and utensils if possible (we will have extra place settings) to promote recycling.
    Beverages are provided.
    *   Vegetarian = No Meat, Fish, or Gelatin.
    **  Vegan = No Meat, Fish, Dairy, Eggs, Gelatin, or Honey.

STAF's 9TH ANNUAL BUCKET AUCTION

Thursday March 24, Doors Open:  6:30pm, Selection of Winners:  8pm
Washington Twp High School, Hurffville-Crosskeys Rd, Sewell NJ, in the 9-10 Cafeteria.
Admission:  $10, payable at the door includes a sheet of prize tickets.  Additional tickets may be purchased inside.  Really great prizes, including Longaberger Baskets, spay/neuter certificates from local veterinarians, tickets to concerts and theaters, passes to museums and gardens, dog and cat gift baskets, books, gift certificates from restaurants and stores, t-shirts, bowling and skating parties, and so much more!  (VSSJ and American Vegan Society both donated gift baskets.)  Also 50/50 contest and door prizes!  All items are donated and all proceeds will directly benefit local animals.

PHILA WALK FOR ANIMALS

Saturday June 25, 9:30am-1pm
A 2.5 mile walkathon event to benefit the Humane League of Phila. Followed by a Festival for the Animals sponsored by PAWS and the Humane League of Phila.
Registration is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. Each walker will be provided with a sponsor packet to accept pledges from friends, family, and co-workers who wish to support their walk!
Sign-in for the Walk will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday June 25, 2011. The Walk will begin at 10 am, following an easy 2.5 mile route that departs from the Ethical Society Building (1906 S. Rittenhouse Square), travels west several blocks to the scenic Schuylkill River Banks Path, then follows the River Banks Path north to the Philadelphia Art Museum before turning around and reversing course.
At the conclusion of the walk, PAWS and The Humane League of Philadelphia will be co-hosting a Spring Festival for the Animals which will run from 11 am to 1 pm. To register and download a sponsor form and information packet, please visit: http://www.thehumaneleague.com/phillywalk3.htm.
