The Vegetarian Society of South Jersey is nonprofit, tax-exempt 501C(3) organization whose purpose is:

Educate the public on the benefits of a plant-based diet.

Our History
Since 1986, VSSJ has given to the community and still continues to do so in many ways:











Educational Outreach
Provide informational displays and free literature at numerous libraries, festivals, health expos, and farm markets: NJ and PA vegetarian dining guide, Cape May dining brochure.
Health Expos
Full day which included: speakers, cooking demos, veg lunch & vendors, at Burlington County College, Rowan University, Burlington Meeting House, Collingswood Community Center, Medford Leas.
Social Gatherings
Many social events such as potluck dinners, picnics, restaurant outings, hikes, bike rides, river cruise.
Nonprofit Support
Provide assistance to other like-minded nonprofits by donating bake sale proceeds, food supply drives, volunteer work days, and more!
Personal Support
Provide support for people in transition to a vegetarian diet, vegan diet, and those simply who want to eat healthier via educational outreach, resources on our website, social media, newsletter, and cooking classes.

Event Sponsorship
Free monthly lectures, teen/children’s programs, 25th and 30th anniversary celebrations, fundraiser for Oasis Farm Sanctuary, film showings, workshops at Whole Foods Market for Meatless Mondays, membership appreciation dinner
